When the World Was at War We Kept Dancing - lana's most political track tbh, it is kinda like Chained To The Rhythm in what it wants to say, except instead of coming off as cringy and "wasted zombie" it comes off as elegant and prompt and thoughful. this song has so many different parts, and when it all comes together and crescendoes into the chorus im left in awe she ENDED beyonce with this loveable bop. God Bless America - And All Beautiful Women In It - invented feminism? i think so. The "stairway" backing in the chorus is orgasmic, and that outro send me to another place, but the lyrics here are really hit or miss, mostly miss. In My Feelings - i dont remember this track oop EDIT this is one of my fav tracks now lolĬoachella - Woodstock In My Mind - aaaa coachella, the most dividing song in the album probably. A$AP Rocky) - i feel like the chorus doesn't live up the potential given by the verses, but still a really lovely track nonetheless i need someone to hand me a red dress so i can start swayin in the wind to this. A$AP Rocky and Playboi Carti) - a song i hated at first grew into a 10 over time. visually it is really lovely and a nice follow up to cherry White Mustang - a really short song for lana, but it works. the random adlibs of lana cussing are somehow so brilliant, and the line, "my cherry, my wine, rosemary and thyme" is so mmmm still love itĬherry - aaaaaaaa! i was waiting for this song since i watched her perform it live on youtube, and it livesup to the hype i made. however, those lyrics in the chorus are just so cringy. love it otherwiseġ3 Beaches - a beatiful ballad from lana with an amazing hook and prechorus that transitions me to the wonderful world this album is trying to place you in. The verses' sound doesnt fit the theme the song it trying to go for. Biggest complaint is the contrast between the chorus/prechorus and the verses. it can be sometimes reptitive, but every piece of this song is stitched to gether in a wonderful way. The Weeknd) - possibly the poppiest song on this album, she once again team up with the weekend to revisit her hollywood americana theme. it oozes style, and is a really good anthem for young love.
these lyrics are some of lana's best, especially that first verse. from the mesmerizing beat to the incredibly beautiful chorus, this song has everything. Love - still the best song of the year to me, narrowly edging out praying.
